ProspectDB, Inc. is changing the way our clients obtain and utilize databases/lists for their research, sales, and marketing efforts. After years of dealing with the frustrations of traditional list brokers and the products they sell, ProspectDB's founders decided it was time for a superior alternative. To accomplish this, ProspectDB first compiled a list of the most common complaints that sales and marketing professionals had when dealing with traditional list brokers and aggregators. Here is a list of the most common complains and the solutions that ProspectDB's founders agreed to use to revolutionize the industry.

Problem Solution
No Emails: Everyone knows that truly integrated multi-channel marketing campaigns are by far the most effective, but traditional sources make this nearly impossible and/or extremely expensive. Ideally you want to be able to identify your prospects and stay in front of them with synergized emails, phone calls, and physical direct mail. Most sources will rent you the physical addresses and phone numbers, but you cannot send emails out to these exact same contacts. You will typically end up renting an email list, which you never see, and probably has little or no overlap with the list of contacts that you are calling and/or sending direct mail to. So, you end up with little or no real synergy between the campaigns. Complete Data, Including Email Address: ProspectDB provides 1) physical address, 2) phone number, and 3) email address with every record. All emails go specifically to the contact, there are no general emails such as info@xyz.com. This allows you to stay in front of your prospects with synergized emails, phone calls, and physical direct mail.
List Rentals: Traditional list rental sources force you to repurchase lists every time you run a new campaign and go through the hassle of explaining exactly what is being sent to each prospect, when it is being sent, etc. This is expensive and can be a real pain. It also typically prevents companies who are conscientious of licensing issues from importing these rented lists of contacts into their CRM solutions. List brokers are constantly suing their current and former clients over licensing and usage violations that they often did unknowingly or did not do at all. None-the-less, defending yourself in court can eat up a lot of time and resources and no one wants to run a marketing department that is walking on egg shells for fear of list rental usage violations. Unlimited License: ProspectDB eliminates this concern by providing unlimited license with every list. You can send the prospects you purchase from ProspectDB an email tomorrow, a direct mail piece next week, give them a call the week after that, and repeat indefinitely without ever paying to rent the list again. Basically, you are free to use the lists we provide any legal way you would like for as long as you would like, with the exception of reselling our lists to a third party. No Guarantee: Traditional list sources do not stand behind their data. If they sell you a contact and that contact left the company 10 years ago, you typically have no contractual right to recourse against them. Every time you buy a list from a traditional broker you are taking a gamble and hoping, sometimes praying, that the data will be at least relatively accurate for most of the records. However, as most sales and marketing professionals know, this is not always the case, and you are simply stuck with a bunch of bogus records that cost top dollar . Guaranteed Accuracy: ProspectDB guarantees every record will be accurate and deliverable, or we will replace the record or provide a proportionate refund. If you purchase 10,000 records and even 50 are undeliverable, we will replace those records with 50 new ones, or provide you with a proportionate refund. Even better is the fact that we will provide you with replacement records or a proportionate refund for up to 60 days from the date of purchase, even if the data in questions becomes "bad" or undeliverable after we provide you with the data. In this way, you have an insurance policy of sorts on the data for up to 60 days from the initial data of delivery.
Same Old Data: With traditional brokered sources you can purchase lists from multiple different brokers and you will end up with much of the same tired old data. This is because most list brokers are simply recycling the same data from the same sources. Original Source of Data: At ProspectDB we compile our data from the Internet, phone calls, and other forms of primary research, so it's not the same old data that traditional list brokers are passing around. Realizing that the Internet is not always the most reliable source for data, everything we compile is run through a rigorous verification process to ensure the highest level of quality.
Poor Customer Support: Traditional list sources and brokers have notoriously poor customer support and often give you the run-around or transfer you endlessly, always suggesting that you need to talk to someone else. Personal Account Representative: Every customer is personally handled by one of our Account Representatives who you can always contact via phone or email. You will not get a different person each time you call.
Fly-by-Night Operations: Many list brokers and data sources pop up one day, sell a few records, then disappear the next, only to pop up somewhere else under a different name. This practice is common in this industry because most of the time the data and customer service are so bad that the company has no positive reputation or returning customer base to hang onto and only vengeful ex-clients to deal with. Good Data is Too Expensive: Historically companies have paid through the nose for quality comprehensive data such as that provided by ProspectDB, and "cheap" data was only available if you were willing to work with dirty, outdated, incomplete data such as that provided by most of the well known sources. It Doesn't Have To Be: Many of ProspectDB's feature databases are priced in the $.10 to $.20 per record range, making them as "Inexpensive" as many other sources that provide rented data with no email addresses and no guarantee. We often call our data an "apples to oranges" comparison with our competition, and when you consider the fact that we basically offer a golden apple for about the same price as a rotten orange, the decision is easy.
